Summer Camp Instructor- Marine Biology

The LBIF is looking for an energetic and engaging professional to teach kids ages 10-12 in the field of Marine Sciences. Candidates must have a strong command of the classroom, be able to work in a team environment, be able to multi-task and to keep children engaged and wanting to learn more. Candidates ideally have 3 or more years’ experience in the science field either teaching or researching and must have their 4-year degree in a science related field. Experience working with children is a plus. Must be able to follow and implement a structured weekly lesson plan system.

Candidates will work from 8:45am-12:15pm, Monday through Friday and will also have an hour of paid “prep” time built into their weekly schedule. They will be held responsible for up to 20 children at a time, with the help of a teacher’s assistant and a volunteer. The candidate must also be able to create a safe and controlled environment on days when there are field trips.

Pay: $15.00/hour
